Your book is awesome! It takes me a little longer to actually finish a book with all the kiddos but the first couple sections was the inspiration for our "His Heart for Orphans" Adoption Ministry Life Group Meeting this weekend!! It is speaking volumes to me. Just today my husband called to look on page 62. We are going through some issues with some of your children and he opened the book to this page and God spoke to Him directly! He called me and said, "go read page 62 and meditate on it." I did and it brings everything in perspective when you are bombarded with daily raising of children and the issues you can run into with children who have had a rough past! Thanks again for an amazing book!!

I was at Life University on January 16th and I just wanted to tell you how much I got out of your message. God is truly using you as an instrument to get his word out in a remarkable way! Thank you for listening to Him. Thank you for sharing your amazing gift with all of us. I feel so blessed to be a part of such an awesome church.

That night, My husband and I were greeters in the back foyer. We had a visitor come to the door who was just asking for money to put gas in his car to get to Robert, LA. We luckily had some cash on us and were able to bless him with a few dollars. Just thought I'd share this experience with you because when you started your talk about the Second Mile - we both felt the Holy Spirit wash over us from what had just taken place.

I pray that God will continue to bless you and your precious family.

I picked up my own copy after Sunday Service and was finally able to open it up first thing this morning to reread Chapter One.

I intended to put it down after a few minutes, at least long enough to go brush my teeth and wash my face, but I just couldn't pull myself away, so I figured I'd read to the next heading but soon slipped into Chapter Two, then I figured I'd read just to the end of that chapter when here came Chapter Three and so on till I reached Chapter Four and then the phone rang so I had to finally put it down.

OMG!!! It was all I thought it would be and then some!!! Great Job Pastor Haman!!!

Section One had me looking intently in the mirror to see if I was bending, stretching, and reaching beyond my capabilities. (assumed/self-imposed limitations)

It then stirred up and inspired me to step out and accept the challenge to become a Second Mile Christian, despite the anxiety of being outside 'my comfort zone'.

Then it had me analyzing what I was holding in my own hand/heart and bringing to the table, a cup/milk or a fork/solid food (Hebrews 5:13,14)

"Lap Five" was a Faith-Building, Fear-Breaking moment for me. 2 Timothy 1:7 was exactly the encouragement and reassurance I needed.

I've suited up and retied my laces, as I'm heading for the Second Mile too baby, cause ordinary living just isn't enough.

Last night at service when you were talking about second mile living I felt like God impressed on my heart to go and run two miles. Now you've got to understand I hate running. The most I've ran at one time in the last year is about a half mile before I work out my legs, and at that distance I feel like I'm going to vomit. When I thought about running two miles I got sick thinking about it but I knew even though it sounded stupid for God to ask me to do this, I had to do it. I really felt God was going to speak to me through this process of denying my flesh. Well I went this morning before I thought about it too much. Let me tell you, when I hit that 3rd and 4th lap I was hurting, but once I pushed past that point it really got easy. It got a little hard when I approached two miles but after that I felt like I could go another mile. I really learned a lot about my flesh and how it will scream to stop, or scream for stuff that it wants, but I don't need and as painful as it may be in the moment to push through, if i will just push and get over that hump it will get easier. I learned that I am capable of a lot more than I think I am. Before I started running I thought I was going to have to stop and walk, but I didn't. As I was running I said, I never knew I could do this. It made me ask myself what else am I saying "I can't" to and God is saying "you can." Can't wait to read the book!

Every so often something comes along in which we can honestly say the true Spirit of God is reflected. This book is a tangible representation, not just an idea or catch phrase, of what we should strive for in our day to day walk. Through humility and patience, Pastor Mike has followed the Lord to the next level of ministry. Day in and day out, Mike Haman goes the extra mile to get it done.

I didn't-couldn't-just glance at the book. I read it all...in between numerous bouts of tears. If I didn't know better, I'd swear the book was written for me! Ever since Jim passed away, I've been acutely aware of my mortality, and I've found myself wondering what I've done that will make a significant and lasting difference after I'm gone. My heart has been searching for the answer, and Second Mile struck a major chord! I really wasn't anticapting anything big and spectacular for myself, but I hadn't yet discovered what I needed to be doing. Now I believe I have my answer...or at least part of it: I am to look for all the little opportunities to go the second mile with those around me. As the author said, we may not have big ministries and be well-known, but we can go the second mile with one person at a time with no other agenda than to do God's work and give him the glory (a very loose paraphrase!). I read large portions of the book to Dan-again through tears. God is so good to send just what we need when we need it. I pray that reading this book will make a life-changing difference in my life and the lives of those I meet-I believe it will.

There's no question that mike's book has the potential to make a significant difference not only in the lives of those who read the book, but also in the lives that those who read it are able to connect with.

The Second Mile is a book that will inspire and challenge you to live at the highest level. It will revolutionise your life by getting you focused on what your christianity is all about-others. Dare to take the risk to live the radical adventure you were born for.

Mike Haman has taken the idea of 'going the second mile' to a new level by showing how it can and should pertain to our relationships, workplace, home life, and more importantly, our walk with our Savior. This book is a great starting point for those looking to make a difference in the world around them. Let Mike’s words in this book challenge you to go the Second Mile.
